Approximately twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast found themselves experiencing outages on Monday morning after powerful weather events impacted the area, generating wind gusts reaching 109km/h.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Impact
Homeowners witnessed large ice chunks as large as 7cm in certain regions. Weather authorities announced that multiple regions across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

Southern State's Climate Difficulties
Simultaneously, nearly 1,000 residents in Victoria also faced power outages after Melbourne recorded its most precipitation in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services received 598 requests for assistance across the state, primarily for building damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.

Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along large portions of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent thunderstorm potential anticipated across different parts of both regions.
Safety Concern
Health officials cautioned that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
This warning comes after past events where analogous circumstances led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
