It's difficult for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

We're talking about the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the record chasers, are the only things left for a team that has achieved everything.

That it took as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the pitchers that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's difficult for their hitters to maintain a record if not afforded the chance.

In the end, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy being given a platform to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has witnessed all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 championship victory arrived three months after her bow and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy commented earlier.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was named player of the tournament. She ensured her country would not come up short.

If this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Many contend the case for championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was much more difficult to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this performance was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've been watching me in the nets, it was a frustrating experience because it seemed my form was missing whatsoever," said Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts kick in and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and from there the batsman was underway.

"The possibility to go out there and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 as she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

When she was out Australia required another 66 at run per delivery - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the assurance to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, should it happen, we are confident we can do it."

That comment will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this championship should hear.

In recent days a belief they will win from any position has only strengthened - this victory coming after success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she regretted not playing despite the injury.

But while she afterwards confessed those physical issues have delayed consideration of ending her career, this championship is anticipated as her final tournament as skipper in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as skipper.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her last major obstacle.
